Tamarou.com was inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement and Art Nouveau in general.

This classic style was at it's height at the turn of the 20th century. It advocated truth to materials, traditional craftsmanship and economic reform, with a focus on designs taken from nature.
Typography
The title font is Shangri La NF by Nick's Fonts and was based upon a hand lettered alphabet from Modern Show Card Writing, by Joseph Bertram Jowitt.
The body font is Helvetica Neue.
Tamarou
In French lore, the tamarou has the appearance of a deer or ibex, but with the principal characteristic that its legs on one side of its body are shorter than on the other side. This enables it to walk upright on the steep slopes of its mountain environment.
